Why do white people like underground rap more than black people?

A lot of the music like Dead Prez, Immortal Technique is targeted towards black people and it seems like it would be very empowering for them, but I hardly know any black people that listen to underground rap and hip-hop. I've been to several shows and it's always vast majority white. Why is this?
